Winter sports are beginning to come to a close which means the final, and some of the most important, games and matches. Unfortunately, it was a tough week for the Bengals.

On Monday, Junior Varsity and B-team basketball played Irmo at Irmo. Girls’ JV lost with a final score of 22-18. Boys’ JV lost with a score of 35-37 and boys’ B-team lost with a score of 38-42.

On Tuesday, Varsity basketball battled Irmo at home. The theme for this game was Jersey Night and the student section was packed to support their Bengals. At halftime of the boys’ game, girls’ golf was also recognized and given their rings for winning the State Championship this fall. Both the girls and boys lost to the Yellow Jackets with a girls’ final score of 24-57 and a boys’ final score of 58-55.

A JV and B-team basketball game against Irmo was scheduled for Thursday, but unfortunately, it was canceled due to weather and rescheduled for February 20.

On Friday, Varsity basketball traveled to Sumter High School. The girls fell to the Gamecocks with a final score of 64-34. The boys also lost with an unfortunate final score of 47-46.

Finally, the week was finished with an unsuccessful wrestling match against Greenwood at Hillcrest High School. Sadly, the Bengals lost the match with a score of 30-46.
