10 Exam Preparation Tips

Exams without preparation can be rough, so here are ten tips to help you be prepared for your exams:

#10: Drink plenty of water

We all know water is good for us, but specifically, it can help you study because it stimulates the brain. A study done by the University of East London and the University of Westminster found that “drinking just 300ml of water can boost attention by up to 25%.”

#9: Plan the day of your exams

Creating a solid schedule for the day of your exams will help avoid a mishap like being late. Track your route to the exam location and then give yourself some extra time to get there. This will prevent an escalated level of anxiety.

#8: Eat healthy snacks

Healthy snacks are good for enhancing concentration and memory, so skip the chips and grab an apple.

#7: Take regular breaks

Studying is good, but you don’t want to overload your brain. Make sure you give yourself breaks in between studying. Ten to fifteen-minute breaks are ideal.

#6: Organize study groups with friends

Studying by yourself can be boring, so get some friends together and create a study group. This will prevent you from getting bored while studying, but you have to stay focused.

#5: Help your classmates study

Not only is it good for you to study, but it is also good to help others study. This not only benefits your friends, but you also because you are hearing and reading the information from another point of view.

#4: Practice with old tests and assignments

This will give you a good idea of what will be on your exams.

#3: Make an ordered list of your exams

Making a list of your exams will help you keep organized and know what and when to study. This will help prevent stress and keep you prepared for your exams.

#2: Maintain an organized study space

Keeping an organized study space will help you stay focused. If you are in a messy area it will cause stress and anxiety which will distract you from the task at hand.

#1: Give yourself enough time to study

Giving yourself enough time to prepare is key. It will keep you organized and also prepared for each exam.
